Aimee Zimmermann, MS, RD, CDN earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology from Pennsylvania State University and a Master of Science degree in Nutrition Education from Columbia University. After completing the educational program in nutritional sciences, Aimee completed the Columbia University Dietetic Internship Program where she was trained in the clinical and community nutrition settings, while specializing in nutrition counseling within physician groups. She attained extensive experience developing numerous nutrition education programs for children and adolescents. Prior to joining Skylands Medical Group, Aimee provided clinical nutrition services to the geriatric population for ArchCare at Kateri Residence, a long-term care facility on the Upper West Side of New York City. Aimee is a member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, the New Jersey Dietetic Association, and the American College of Sports Medicine. Additionally, Aimee holds memberships with several Nutrition Dietetic Practice Groups through the Academy which include the Weight Management Group, the Diabetes Care and Education Group, the Nutrition Entrepreneurs Group, as well as the Sports, Cardiovascular, and Wellness Nutrition Group.
Aimee has a passion for nutrition and the role food plays in disease prevention and management. Her prior experience in the health, nutrition, and fitness-related fields lends her the knowledge and understanding necessary to provide nutritional counseling in both individual and group settings. Aimee takes a personalized approach and works closely with each patient to identify their particular needs and goals. With practical advice and support, Aimee helps each patient manage medical conditions and improve overall health by first recognizing and then changing particular behaviors. With the objective of building healthier habits using an individualized lifestyle approach, Aimee will monitor and assist each patient to realize their goals.
